There are plenty of reasons to love the holidays, but for us, seasonal makeup is way up there. And since we’ll be going mask-free this year, we figured that our only choice was to go all-out. That’s right, in sheer anticipation, we’ve rounded up our favourite formulas that just scream ‘’Christmas!’’ From glosses and stains, to mattes and liquids, there’s a little something for everyone here. Keep scrolling for the best products to give you that perfect pop of festive colour!

Lisa Eldridge – True Velvet Lip Colour – Velvet Jazz – £26

If you’re a fan of mattes but have been looking for something with a little more hydration, Lisa Eldridge’s Velvet Jazz just might be your new best friend. The creamy luxurious formula glides on with ease and doesn't flake or feather throughout the day. This deep brick red colour has Christmas written all over it.

Makeup by Mario – Ultra Suede Lipstick – Alicia – £23

Warning! This long-wearing, ultra-vivid chilli red is definitely not for wallflowers. Just one swipe provides an intensely rich colour payoff, staying put no matter how many glasses of prosecco you drink. Hey, we wouldn’t expect anything less from Kim K’s makeup artist.

Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint - Uncensored – £20

A true makeup connoisseur, Rihanna offers a liquid lip colour which promises to suit all skin tones. This neutral-toned, medium-dark red applies with full, intense opacity in a single swipe, adding a touch of glamour to any look. A weightless, 12-hour liquid lipstick with a soft-matte finish, this one is sure to turn some heads.

Rare Beauty – Lip Soufflé Matte Lip Cream – Inspire – £34.95

With its airy, whipped cream formula, Serena Gomez’s Lip Soufflé glides on like a dream and wears super comfortably. Formulated with a blend of lotus, gardenia and white waterlily, this product works to nourish and smooth out the lips with its soft blurring effect. This warm-toned medium red would lend itself well to those with warmer skin tones or a deeper complexion.

Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Colour – Blackberry – £25

If you love the idea of a deeper, darker lip, but the thought of precise application makes you deeply uncomfortable, Bobbi Brown’s Crushed Lip Colour provides a low-maintainence, high-impact alternative. Fusing the look of a lipstick with the nourishing feeling of a balm, this product delivers a blotted, stained effect in just one swipe. We love Blackberry for a badass vampy look.

Em Cosmetics True Gloss – Blood Moon – £25

If you prefer glosses over mattes, we’ve got you covered. Em Cosmetics’ high-intensity, buttery-smooth formula should stick around throughout the festivities. We love Blood Moon-a brilliant pillar-box red.

Patrick Ta – Major Glow Lip Shine – She's Expensive (Pearl) – £19

Serving us mega-watt shine without the tackiness of a traditional lip-gloss, Patrick Ta’s Major Glow Lip Shine is a total winner in our books. Packed with flecks of silver and gold micro-sparkle, this gloss is the perfect holiday lip topper. Shine on, you crazy diamond! (We are so sorry).

Clinique – Almost Lipstick – Black Honey – £18.50

Yes, yes. We know that it looks intimidating. HOWEVER- and hear us out. This admittedly scary-looking bullet actually delivers a glossy slip of lightweight colour to compliment all skintones. A seasonal sheer lip that you can apply with your eyes closed! It's just that good.

Rituel de Fille – Enchanted Lip Sheer – Devil's Claw – £20

For a natural, satin finish, Rituel de Fille’s Devil’s Claw is the perfect choice. While it’s not completely transfer-proof, this product fades down to a beautiful stain-like finish. It feels soft as silk, too thanks to nourishing jojoba seed oil in the formula.

Charlotte Tilbury – K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick – Love Bite – £25

For nourishing, all-day colour, look no further than Charlotte Tilbury’s K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick. With its creamy formula and satin finish, this one is a must-try. Love Bite is a striking warm hue that would be perfect for the office Christmas party.
